Offline & Real-Time

Pachurros is built so you can keep working without a stable connection, and so you can see, in real time, what your team is doing.

What is on the device and what is still waiting

Under Settings → Offline & storage you see three things at a glance:

• What is still waiting: how many changes have not reached the server yet, broken down by kind (page content, table cell, newly created item …). Sync now triggers an attempt by hand.
• What is on this device: how much space Pachurros uses on this device and how much the browser allows.
• Clear cache: deletes the stored copies. Pending changes are kept and still go out; only the read copies disappear, and the app needs a connection the next time it opens.

Why this doesn’t rely on a single event

The queue does not only start when the browser reports “back online”. That event can get lost: after reloading without a network, the browser later reported a connection again without ever saying so. The work then sat on the device while the app had long reported “saved”. So Pachurros also checks as soon as you return to the app, and on a timer while something is pending.

Working offline (PWA)

Pachurros is a Progressive Web App: pages, boards, databases and projects can be opened and edited offline.

• Automatic sync: Changes you make offline are buffered in a local queue (outbox) and sent automatically as soon as a connection is available again.
• Create content offline: New rows, columns, views, boards and projects can be created offline; they receive their final ID on sync.
• Offline image uploads: Images can be added offline too; they upload as soon as you are back online.
• Cover images offline: You can set, change or remove the cover of a page or project without a connection. It shows right away and stays visible after reloading without a network.
• Profile picture offline: A profile picture chosen offline shows right away and is uploaded later. If you pick several times, the last one wins.
• Image and file cells offline: In tables (including the content plan) you can put images and documents up to 25 MB into cells offline. Larger files and other uploads only work online; then the notice “This upload only works online” appears.
• Online-only hints: If something requires a connection (e.g. external previews or live collaboration), a hint indicates it.

Installing the app

Use your browser’s “Install” or “Add to Home Screen” option to keep Pachurros like a native app. It then launches in full-screen / standalone mode without a browser bar.

Live collaboration (presence)

When several team members work at the same time, you see it in real time:

• Presence avatars: Who currently has the same page, table or board open.
• Awareness: Cursor and focus indicators: you can tell which cell or block someone is editing.
• Automatic resync: If the connection drops, Pachurros reconnects and reconciles the state automatically.

Real-time updates

Lists (pages, tables, boards) and notifications update live, without reloading the page. When someone creates a new table or changes an entry, it appears for everyone automatically.

Good to know

Purely local editing works offline. The collaborative real-time features (presence, live updates) require an internet connection.
